First Hike of the Season!
The North End Action Team's Hiking Club embarked on the first hike of the season Sunday, with a group of 12 North End Kids, six Wesleyan University Students and a wonderful host of community volunteers. The group hiked the Chapman Pond trail by Gilette's Castle and a great time was had by all. They found lots of signs of spring, including skunk cabbage flowers, daffodils and new buds, as well as the remnants of winter...the remains of a swan and an abandoned paper wasp nest. If you're interested in hiking with us, give us a call at 860-346-4845 or email at neat@neatmiddletown.org
The hiking club is generously funded by Outdoor Nation and the Middletown Area Substance Abuse Prevention Council
